PSYCHOTHERAPY PRACTICE
A deeper approach to relationship patterns
COUPLES THERAPY
Couples often come to therapy because something in the relationship keeps getting activated in ways that feel painful, familiar, or difficult to resolve within the relationship alone.
Intimate relationships have a way of bringing our deeper relational patterns to the surface. Earlier wounds, protective strategies, and unmet needs can become mirrored between partners, often creating cycles that neither person consciously intends.
While these patterns can create disconnection, they can also offer a powerful opportunity for deeper healing. My work with couples focuses on understanding what is happening beneath the conflict, while helping each partner develop greater awareness, responsibility, and the capacity for a more connected and authentic relationship.
A SOMATIC AND RELATIONAL APPROACH
Relationship conflict does not only happen through words. It also happens through the nervous system.
When we feel hurt, unseen, or threatened, we may become flooded, shut down, defensive, critical, or disconnected.
My training in somatic psychotherapy, including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, helps couples slow these reactions down and become more aware of what is happening in the body and between them in real time.
RELATIONAL LIFE THERAPY
My couples work is also informed by Relational Life Therapy (RLT), developed by Terry Real.
RLT is an active and relational approach that helps each partner understand the protective strategies they bring into the relationship, while also taking responsibility for how those patterns affect one another.
The work supports greater honesty, accountability, connection, and the ability to repair when things go wrong.

WHAT IT'S LIKE TO WORK WITH ME
My style is engaged, collaborative, and active.
Together, we will slow down the patterns happening between you, explore the conditioning and relational wounds each of you brings into the relationship, and begin to understand how these patterns may be getting in the way of deeper connection.
The goal is not simply to communicate better, but to create a relationship that feels more connected, honest, and alive.
GETTING STARTED
Couples sessions are 75 minutes and are offered virtually throughout California and Ontario, Canada.
I offer a brief consultation call to explore what is bringing you to therapy and whether my approach feels like the right fit for your relationship.
